HCA, the nation’s leading healthcare provider, is composed of locally managed facilities that include over 160 hospitals, over 100 outpatient centers and Shared Services in 20 states and England.  The provision of central/regional Shared Services includes financial services, supply chain, payroll services, and human resources for our non-hospital lines of business, allowing HCA’s patient care delivery partners to direct all of their attention and commitment to quality patient care.

Regional Human Resources teams are aligned to support the human resources needs of the Shared Service Center operations, the Outpatient Services Group, and a few other regional support operations.  If your career interest is in one of these areas, just click on the associated link below:

Ambulatory Surgery Services

Ambulatory Surgery Centers have been providing freestanding surgical services for many years as more efficient and convenient alternative to inpatient hospitalization.  As technology advances, the available procedures in an ambulatory setting increase.  This has resulted in a strong growth curve and financial viability for HCA’s ASD which is one of the country’s largest and most successful.

The ASD is comprised of over 107 centers, including specialty centers, example, eye surgery, endoscopy, pediatric, and women’s services, to name a few.

Imaging Services

The Imaging side of the IOSD made up of freestanding Imaging Centers, often on or near one of our hospital campuses or in strategic geographical locations to address the medical needs of our communities.  These services may include some or all of the following modalities of digital imaging, as well as “flat film” or standard radiography:

• Computerized Tomography (CT) or Computerized Axial Tomography (CAT)
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
• Ultrasound/Echo (US)
• Positron Emission Tomography (P.E.T.)
• Mammography
• Bone Density Scans
• Nuclear Medicine

While many of these same procedures are available in the inpatient setting of our hospitals, the free-standing approach can often provide these services in a manner more conducive to the ambulatory patient, and in more cost effective manner.

Oncology Services

Oncology Services include multiple cancer treatment modalities including, but not limited to:
• Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
• Gamma Knife
• Cyber knife
• High Dose Rate Irradiation (HDR),

Cancer Research - In addition to the treatment aspect, our Southeastern Cancer Research Institute (SCRI) is one of the nations largest, partnering with numerous pharmaceutical companies and physician practices for cutting edge research in the treatment of cancers.

Physician Services

Physician Practices – nearly 600 physician practices are currently supported by HCAPs, and that number is expected to grow significantly.

Practice Management - In addition to providing recruitment and employment for physicians, HCAPS provides a broad range of services to these practices, including Practice Management, employment of office staff, financial services (billing and collection).

Hospital Based Physicians (HBP) – The fastest growing component of HCAPS includes a variety of hospital-based practitioners, including, but not limited to: Hospitalists, Anesthesia Services, Emergency Medicine, Neonatology, and Radiology.  This model seeks to leverage the company’s market strength by contracting for HBP services and specialties across markets and specialties rather than with individual physicians or separate specialties.

HCA Physician Services implements innovative, value added solutions that help physicians deliver high quality, cost effective healthcare to support HCA’s commitment to the care and improvement of human life.  We offer employment opportunities at our consolidated service centers and in our medical practices.
